( She...who asked and He...who answered)

Year 1951, a Hindi writer, who wrote a total of 3 stories and became famous with his third story to an extent that not only it is said to be the best love story but it is included in top 10 Hindi stories ever. The great author, Shri Chandradhar Sharma "Guleri" wrote his most famous work, "Usne kaha tha" (उसने कहा था) immediately after first world war.

An era, in which no lover in India (at least) celebrated Valentine Day, exchange of rose, celebration of love on a particular day of the week/month, no promises were made, no commitments were done but even then it was and is the best love story I ever read.

Why am I talking about it today, because my new blog title is inspired by this story. Today I am going to write about two lovers, She...who asked and He...who answered.

जानती हूँ, तुम जाओगे;

Translation:

She asked:

As always
I was again sitting on my terrace today
Watching you leave
The light of the melting sun
Descending in my eyes,
I am now eagerly waiting
For my Moon
I know, you will leave
Only then, my moon will
Peep through my window
How important it has become
Meeting you every day
Your routine adds
some more breath to me
Will you come to meet me, everyday...?

He said:

"Oh yes, I am your moon
I will visit you every night
On fresh green grass
I will spread like moonlight
My light will sparkle everything
I will play with you
Show you dreams
Will make you smile,
The night
Full of shining stars
Will sparkle like fireworks
All over the sky
Their flicker, will fill your life
In morning
This moon night
Will change into
The golden sparkling rays of the sun
Will stay with you as warmth
Every sound
will let you know
That I am around
And Me
I will visit you
Every day and every night
Only for you..."
