अमा की कलुषित यमा के ,

कृष्ण आँचल में भरे से ,

घोर तम की क्रूर आँखों का

खटकता ख़ार बनकर

जल रहीं किस के विरह में आंसुओं की धार बनकर

किस विरहिणी प्रेयसी  की ,

मिलन की आशा नदी की ,

डूबती जर जर तरी की ,

टूटती पतवार बनकर

जल रहीं किस के विरह में आंसुओं की धार बनकर

किस अभागिन दीन दुखिया,

व्यथित हृदया, रुद्ध कंठा,

बाल विधवा के रुदन का ,

मौन हाहाकार बनकर
