That Evening Sun Go Down...!!!

A very famous collection of short stories by William Faulkner "That Evening Sun Go Down". Although his stories were often dark and almost always Southern, his stories always had people from all walks of life, young and old, black and white, rich and poor, man and woman and so on.

But for me, the Evening Sun has always reminded me of "Hope". There is always a new morning after a dark night. I enjoy watching sunset's pinwheels of peach and lavender, slowly exploding into bright orange ribbons, and I think, the sensory misers will inherit the earth but before that they will make it not worth living on. But, then something strikes to me, as again watch they sky, the sun keeps going down very fast and the dark night covers us all over, I think of those flamingo ribbons merging with the charcoal night and giving me hope, that there is always a bright morning after each night, the world can be a better place, full of love.

"Even if the heart aches, even if the mind is confused, even if the soul is lost and love off track, there still is hope to soothes us down...!!!"

  "यह शाम मेरी मुट्ठी में बंद रेत की तरह है  

इसको जितना पकड़ने की कोशिश करो, 

यह हाथों से उतनी ही छूटती जाती है, 

वक़्त के हर लम्हे के साथ कुछ बिखर सी जाती है, 

कहीं कुछ दरक रहा है, चटक रहा है कुछ कहीं, 

करीब और करीब, 

नज़दीक और नज़दीक आते आते, 

फिर कुछ छूट रहा है, कुछ दूर जा रहा है, 

रह गए हैं सिर्फ सन्नाटे, 

कुछ यादें,और; 

थोड़ी सी तन्हाई......."

 

Translation:

 

"Oh this evening,

It's like a sand in my hand,

The more I try to hold it tight

It slips away from me,

It's falling apart every minute

Something is split

Something crackled, somewhere

Close, even closer

Something is left behind, 

Something is going far away,

All left with me is Silence

Few memories, and

little bit of Loneliness..."
